Hiro Katoh, MD, PhD
Spine surgeon and medical school professor in Japan. I perform spinal fusions, and I also implant spinal cord stimulators.
Most stimulators are placed by pain specialists, and most spine surgeons don’t offer them. Doing both lets me compare them honestly, and help each patient choose.
For years I moved between hospitals and rarely saw how my patients did long after surgery. Once I followed them for more than a decade, I saw what fusion does over time, for better and for worse. That is the story of the first video.
